A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
Tibet, also Thibet: thibetum,-i (s.n.II), abl.sg. thibeto; see Himalaya,-ae (s.f.I):

“A plateau region in Central Asia, where the Tibetan people traditionally live, encompassing what is now Tibet Autonomous Region (also called Xizang), most of Qinghai, the western half of Sichuan, a small part of Yunnan and a small part of Gansu in the Peoples Republic of China, and also the country of Bhutan, and the Indian regions of Sikkim and Ladakh.

- species 1, salsugineorum Tibetiae alpinae incola (B&H), species 1, native of salty [sc.locis, ‘places’] of alpine Tibet.

tibetanus,-a,-um (adj.A), thibetanus,-a,-um (adj.A);

- (fungus) Aureoboletus thibetanus

- (bird) Serinus thibetanus, Tibetan siskin

tibeticus,-a,-um (adj.A), thibeticus,-a,-um (adj.A): Tibetan;

- species 1, Himalayae Tibeticae incola (B&H), species one, a native of the Tibetan Himalaya.
