Psammite (Greek psammos, sand) is a general term for sandstone. It is equivalent to the Latin-derived term arenite and is commonly used in various publications to describe a metamorphosed sedimentary rock with a dominantly sandstone protolith (Wikipedia July 2019).

psammiticus,-a,-um (adj.A): psammitic, of or relating to psammite (sandstone).

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
