In pluribus speciebus Habenariae, glanduia valvis inclusa v. semi-inclusa evadit” (B&H), the anthers of the locules differ by the valves along beside the extremity [i.e. outer edge] of the caudicles dilated, then enclosing the glandule. In many species of Habenaria, the glandule is enclosed by the valves or becomes half-enclosed.

Tegmentum,-i (s.n.II), abl. sg. tegmento, nom. & acc. pl. tegmenta: “the scales of a leaf-bud; they are ‘foliaceum’ when modifications of leaves; ‘fulcraceum’ of stipules and petioles; ‘petiolaceum’ of petioles only; ‘stipulaceum’ of stipules only” (Lindley); the scales of a leaf-bud (Jackson).
