A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
Indigena,-ae (s.c.I), abl. sg. indigena, nom.pl. indigenae, acc.pl. indigenas: a native, born in a country, indigene, belonging to ones own country; cf. inquilinus,-i (s.m.II), an alien, one who dwells in a place not his own; = incola,-ae (s.c.I), q.v.; opp. alien (Eng.noun); see native (Eng.noun); cf. indigena,-ae (irreg. Latin adj.);

- species 4, in Archipelago Malayano indigenae (B&H), species 4, natives in the Malayan Archipelago.

- species 1, in Tibetia occidentali temperata indigena (B&H), species 1, a native in temperate western Tibet.

- species ad 20, Europae, Asiae Minoris, Persiae, et Sibiriae indigenaa, multae valde variabiles (B&H), species to 20, natives of Europe, Asia Minor, of Persia and Sibiria, many very variable.

- species 1, lacuum Europae, Sibiriae, et Americae borealis indigena (B&H), species one, a native of the lakes of Europe, Siberia and north America.

Bazzania indigenarum, the Bazzania of the indigenous (sc. people).
