A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

Geum,-i (s.n.II), abl.sg. geo, classically gaeum,-i (s.n.II), abl.sg. gaeo: “a plant identified with Geum urbanum (Glare);

  singular  plural
  Nom  Geum Gea
  Gen. Gei  Georum
  Dat. Geo  Geis
  Acc. Geum Gea
  Abl. Geo  Geis
- Saxifragae vasculum seminibus ut plurimum exiguis foetum, & hac ratione tum a Sedo multisiliquo, tum a Geo bicorni, cujus calyx vasculo non connascitur, distinguitur (Ray), the seed-vessel of saxifrage is filled for the most part with [a small number of; small] seeds, and for this reason it is distinguished sometimes from Sedum multisiliquum, sometimes from Geum bicorne, [the calyx of which is not produced simultaneously with the seed vessel.

- Geum vasculum quidem habet bicorne & bicapsulare Saxifragae instar, verum non cohaerens calyci, sed sejunctum, quo palam fit Gei calycem profundius & ad basin usque divisum esse (Ray); Geum has a kind of seed vessel that has two horns and is bicapsular like Saxifraga, but it is not coherent to the calyx but rather separated, for which reason the calyx of Geum may be more deeply divided as far as the base.

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
