Ducatus,-us (s.m.IV), abl. sg. ducatu: duchy, “the territory or dominions of a duke or duchess: dukedom” (WIII);

- Patria. Hercynia. Mons piniferus. Lusatia superior. Ducatus Badensis. Tractus Sudetorum. Ager Halensis. (C. Mueller), Native place. Hercynia [i.e. “Harz region, mid Germany” (Stearn). A pine-bearing mountain. Upper Lusatia [i.e. “Lausitz, region between rivers Oder and Elbe, E. Germany” (Stearn). The Duchy of Baden. The region of the Sudeti [i.e. “Sudeten mountains, N.W. Czechoslovakia and S. W. Poland” (Stearn), the District of Halle [German state Saxony-Anhalt].

- [moss] Patria: Europa, ad saxa granitica et arenacea Germaniae, in ducatu Brunsvicensi (Jaeg.Sauerb.), birthplace: Europe, on the granitic and sandy stones of Germany, in the Duchy of Brunswick [created 1814].

- Magnus Ducatus Etruriae, the Grand Duchy of Etruria (Tuscany).
