A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
Decensus,-us (s.m.IV), abl.sg. descensu: a descent; a descending way [> descendo, descendi, descensum, to descend, to go down from a higher to a lower place]; opp. ascensus,-us (s.m.IV), q.v., a going up, ascent or ascending;

- Tarapoto, in decensu montis Guayrapurina (2500 ped.), at Tarapoto, on the descent of Mount Guayrapurina (2500 feet).

- descensus montis, a descending of the mountain.

- Hab. Oritur in sabulosis lapidosis descensus montis Capouladou dicti haud longe a Monspelio, Habitat: it arises on the gravelly and stoney [sc. places] of the descending way of the mountain called Capoulado not far from Monspelius.
