A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
Cygnus,-i (s.m.II), abl. sg. cygno: swan; classically spelled cycnus,-i (s.m.II), abl. sg. cycno [> Gk. kyknos)]; see birds;

- collum cygni, swan's neck; collum-cygni: an epithet applied to Aerangis and Psittacanthus species (Stearn).

- fructus magnitudine ovi cygnei, the fruit with the size of a swan’s egg.

- fluvius cygnorum, river of swans, i.e. Swan River Colony, Western Australia (Stearn).

Fluvius Cygnorum, abl.sg. fluvio Cygnorum: the Swan River (river of swans), Western Australia (Stearn).

Amphipogon cygnorum Nees (Poaceae).
