Animadversio,-onis (s.f.III), abl. sg. animadversione: perception, observation, notice, consideration; the perception or observation of an object; consideration, attention (Lewis and Short); reflections; critical thoughts, investigation, inquiry; criticism, reproach [> L. animadverto,-ti,-sum, inf. animadvertere: “to direct the mind (towards), pay attention (to) with ad, or dat; with de; in + acc., ‘on’ + acc.; to notice, observe; to acknowledge; also to find fault with, criticize; to remark upon; to judge of, appraise; (after Glare)]; see footnote; see observation;

Animadversion (Eng.noun): “criticism that is usu. adverse and prompted by some degree of hostility: censure: a censorious remark or observation; an observation, remark, or commentary that is usu. based on careful analysis and impartial judgment” (after WIII).
