Acta,-ae (s.f.I) and Acta,-orum (pl.n.II):

1. Acta,-ae (s.f.I), abl. sg. acta: the sea-shore, the beach, especially as a place of recreation; = Gk. aktE,-es (s.f.I), abl.sg. akte, a seashore; a promontory, headland, a high rugged coast; a tract of land running out into the sea, as the north and south coasts of Asia Minor and the peninsula of the Piraeus (Liddell & Scott);

acteus,-a,-um (adj.A), pertaining to the beach or sea-shore; see shore (Eng.noun).

Caleacte,-es (s.f.I), abl.sg. Caleacte; > Gk. kalos, beauty + akte, sea-shore; the species being ornamental there. Asteraceae” (Paxton).

2. Acta,-orum (pl. n. II): record of events, reports, proceedings, transactions;

- Acta Anglica, Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London (Stearn); cf. diarium,-ii (s.n.II), journal.

- Acta societatis scientiarum fennicae, X; Transactions of the society of sciences of Finnland, X.
