Achras,-adis (s.f.III), q.v., abl.sg. achrade; = Gk. achras, “a wild pear-tree” (Lewis & Short); achras,-ados (s.f.III), “a kind of wild pear, Pyrus amygdaliformis; used for the tree as well as the fruit” (Liddell & Scott).

Atlantias,-adis (s.f.III) a daughter of Atlas (Glare); Cythereias,-adis (f., adj.) Cytherean; poetic for belonging or consecrated to Venus (Lewis & Short); Daulias,-adis (s.f.III); adj. Daulian (of Daulis,-idis (s.f.III), a city of Phocis); Dipsas,-adis (s.f.III),q.v., a kind of snake; Euhias,-adis (s.f.III), a Bacchante.

NOTE: Sassafras Nees is derived from an aboriginal name, used by early French settlers in the state of Florida (Fernald, 1950 p. 678). It is a neuter noun and probably indeclineable, as many aboriginal names are, i.e. spelled the same in every case, singular and plural.
