Vaccinium floribundum  Kunth;  Ericaceae

Arbustos enanos, miden hasta 30 cm de alto. Las hojas son alternas, miden hasta 2 cm de largo, son duras, lanceoladas, con el borde aserrado. La inflorescencia se presenta en racimos de 6 a 10 flores, miden hasta 1,5 cm de largo. Las flores de hasta 8 mm de largo, la corola es cilíndrica con 4 ó 5 dientes, de color blanco o rosado a rojizo. Los frutos son redondeados, miden hasta 8 mm de diámetro, carnosos, de color negro-azul, a veces con una cubierta cerosa.

Distribución: Costa Rica a Perú. En el PNC se encuentra en el páramo arbustivo.

Dwarf shrubs, up to 30 cm tall. The leaves are alternate, up to 2 cm long, stiff, lanceolate; the margins are serrate. The inflorescence is a raceme of 6 to 10 flowers, up to 1.5 cm long. The flowers are up to 8 mm long; the corolla is cylindrical with 4 or 5 teeth, white or pink to reddish. The fruits are round, up to 8 mm in diameter, fleshy, blue-black, sometimes with a waxy cover.

Distribution: Costa Rica to Peru. In CNP it is found in the shrubby páramo.
