Miconia salicifolia  (Bonpl. ex Naudin) Naudin;  Melastomataceae

Arbustos de 1 a 4 m, con forma columnar, densamente ramificados; los tallos, la cara inferior de las hojas y las flores están cubiertos de pelos de color amarillento a café-rojizo. Las hojas son opuestas, de hasta 5 cm de largo, lanceoladas y estrechas, los bordes enrollados hacia abajo. La inflorescencia de 1 a 2 cm de largo, con pocas flores. Las flores son de hasta 5 mm de largo, con forma de copa, rosadas con los pétalos de color blanco-crema; los estambres son rosados. Los frutos son redondeados y carnosos, de hasta 6 mm de largo, de color verde azulado y luego morado.

Distribución: Venezuela a Perú. En el PNC se encuentra en el subpáramo de pajonal.

Shrubs 1 to 4 m tall, with an overall columnar shape, densely branched, the stem, lower surface of leaves, and flowers are covered with yellowish to reddish-brown hairs. The leaves are opposite, up to 5 cm long, lanceolate and narrow, the margins curl downwards. The inflorescence is 1 to 2 cm long, few-flowered. The flowers are up to 5 mm long, cup-shaped, pink; the petals are cream-white; the stamens are pink. The fruits are round and fleshy, up to 6 mm long, bluish-green turning purple.

Distribution: Venezuela to Peru. In CNP it is found in the grass subpáramo.
