Calamagrostis intermedia  (J. Presl) Steud.;  Poaceae o Gramineae

Hierbas en macollas densas, miden hasta 80 cm de diámetro. Las hojas son lineares y miden hasta 80 cm de largo; los bordes están doblados y dan una apariencia cilíndrica a las hojas. Las inflorescencias son llamativas, miden hasta 90 cm de largo, son racimos compuestos con numerosas espiguillas amarillentas. Las flores son reducidas, miden hasta 10 mm de largo.

Distribución: Colombia a Argentina. En el PNC es la planta dominante en el páramo de pajonal. Sobrevive a las quemas.

Large tussock grasses, up to 80 cm long in diameter. The leaves are linear, up to 80 cm long; the margins are curled inwards along the leaf giving it a cylindrical shape. The inflorescences are showy racemes, up to 90 cm long, with numerous yellowish spikelets. The flowers are reduced, up to 10 mm long.

Distribution: Colombia to Argentina. In CNP it is the dominant plant in the grass páramo. It survives fires.
