Crataegus pseudoazarolus Popov - Hawthorn

Central Asia (Kopet-Dag). Dry places in hills, slopes.

Small tree or large shrub 6-8 m, with thornless branches. Leaves oblong, leathery. Flowers 6-14 in terminal inflorescence. Fruits large, dark red. Ornamental, drought resistant. Z 5 (4). New.

Crataegus songarica C. Koch - Hawthorn

Central Asia, northern China, Iran and Afghanistan. Mountain valleys, rocky slopes.

Small tree or shrub 4-5 m. Branches reddish, spiny, with large (8 cm), 5-7 lobed leaves. Flowers numerous, fruits purple-black. Very ornamental. Good for stabilizing sandy banks and hills in dry places. Z 5 (4). New.

Crataegus turcomanica Pojark. - Hawthorn

Central Asia (mountains of Turkmenia) and Iran. Rocky hills and slopes.

Small tree or shrub 1.5-5 m, with thornless branches. Leaves bright grey-green 5 cm long. Good for dry rocky places. Very attractive when flowering. Drought resistant. Z 5 (4). New.

Crataegus turkestanica Pojark. - Hawthorn

Central Asia and Iran. Rocky hills, slopes.

Small tree (5-) 7-8 m high. Branches thornless. Leaves small 3.0-3.5 cm long, deeply cut. Flowers white, numerous, fruits dark red. Heat resistant. Z 5 (4). New.
