For PreK-Grade 2 educators and parents. To what extent can everyday access to nature transform the lives of St. Louis’ youngest citizens? During this 3-day experience, early childhood educators from across the St. Louis region will have the opportunity to network and share ideas related to the critically important topic of nature in the lives of young children, families, and communities. Designed for district leaders, classroom educators, and parents, the summit will feature keynote speakers, case study presentations, a field trip to Shaw Nature Reserve, inspiring stories/voices from across the U.S. and world, and facilitated planning and discussion time. Throughout the summit, participants will create a customized 4-season plan, packed with tested activities, curriculum connections, book lists, and other resources relevant to their own school/community needs. The 2014 Early Childhood Nature Summit is convened by Missouri Botanical Garden in collaboration with local school districts, universities, and other community organizations. A light breakfast and lunch each day is included in the fee. Price is per group; teams of two to five individuals per school and/or district are encouraged to attend. Graduate credit is available. A registration fee of $150 covers a school/district team of between 2 to 5 people for both days of the summit. Only one (1) lead registrant per team is required to register on behalf of a team. Registration ends Thursday, June 26th at 4:00 PM. |
