Lianas, the branchlets terete but with ca. 8 thin, detachable ribs, without interpetiolar glandular fields; pseudostipules absent or small and subulate. Leaves 3-foliolate; terminal leaflet sometimes replaced with a much-branched (to 22-fid) tendril, the apices of some tendril branches becoming large and disk-like. Inflorescence an axillary raceme. Calyx large, thin, narrowly campanulate, ± bilabiate; corolla variable in color from yellow to magenta or greenish white, tubular-campanulate, glabrous or minutely glandular-papillose outside. Anthers glabrous, the thecae straight, divaricate. Ovary linear, puberulous; style minutely puberulous; disk large, annular-pulvinate. Fruit an elongate-linear capsule, compressed, the valves parallel to the septum, puberulous, in part with gland-tipped trichomes. Seeds thin, 2-winged, the wings membranous.
