VOLUNTEER GENERAL INFORMATION
APGA 2009 CONFERENCE
June 23 – June 27, 2009

ORIENTATION
Hotel Volunteers, Bus Captains, Bus Tour Guides, and Missouri Botanical Garden (MBG) volunteers,  will attend an orientation conducted at the Missouri Botanical Garden on one of the following dates:

  • Friday, June 12,  10 a.m.
    Botanical Room in Ridgway Visitor Center
  • Saturday, June 13,  10 a.m.
    Botanical Room in Ridgway Visitor Center
  • Sunday, June 14, 1 p.m.
    Botanical Room in Ridgway Visitor Center

Shaw Nature Reserve (SNR) and pre-conference tour on-site volunteers will receive orientations specific to their sites.

ATTIRE
Volunteers will be provided with an APGA 2009 Volunteer T-Shirt.  Please wear khaki or black slacks and comfortable shoes for standing.

HOTEL PARKING
Parking is available in the hotel’s parking garage. Carpooling is strongly encouraged.  Volunteers working the same shifts can meet at MBG and drive to the hotel together.  You will be reimbursed by MBG for the parking fees (up to four hours).  Be sure to save your receipt!

ARRIVAL TIME
Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start time of your scheduled shift.  Hotel volunteers are to check in at “Volunteer Central” (room 47) when they arrive.  Volunteers assigned to MBG, SNR, and pre-conference tour sites are to go directly to their assigned stations.

REFRESHMENTS
Coffee, soft drinks and snacks will be available for hotel volunteers throughout the day at “Volunteer Central”.
