Rest your feet, relax and enjoy the sights — experience the Missouri Botanical Garden by tram! Narrated tram tours provide an excellent opportunity to see and learn about many of the beautiful display gardens, sculptures and buildings on the grounds, without walking.
Private Tram Tours
Groups of 15 or more may book a private narrated tram tour for their Garden visit. Private tours can accommodate a maximum of 32-36 people per tram* and are available for a fee of $150 per tram, in addition to Garden admission. (*Seating capacity: 32 passengers with 2 per seat, 36 passengers with 3 passengers per seat in some rows.)
Private Tram Tours do not provide drop-off or re-boarding. Trams must be booked at least 21 days in advance and are subject to availability.
For more information on private tram tours, as well as other amenities and discounts available for group visitors, please call the Tourism Dept. at 1-800-332-1286 toll free; or e-mail email@example.com.
Public Tram Tours
This 25-minute tour stops at the Kemper Center for Home Gardening, Japanese Garden, and Victorian District, to allow passengers to exit and explore at their leisure. Visitors may board a later tram to continue their journey, as space allows.
- Available: daily, April 1 through October 31
- Boarding: tram shelter, located just outside the Ridgway Visitor Center (main entrance building) and at various locations throughout the Garden.
- Accessibility: Visitors in wheelchairs may ride comfortably in an oversized handicapped accessible tram car.
- Price: $4.00 per person in addition to Garden admission.
Children age two and under may ride for free sitting on a lap.
Please contact Visitor Services at (314)-577-5101 or in person at the ticket counter for the current tram schedule. Seating is first-come, first served. Trams are not available during special events and cannot be guaranteed due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
PLEASE NOTE: The Missouri Botanical Garden features 79 acres of landscaped displays. We recommend a Minimum of three hours for your complete group tour of the Garden. For tightly scheduled itineraries, you may be able to manage a two-hour visit, but this will require skipping the famed Seiwa-en Japanese Garden.
