Hours

9 a.m. - 5 p.m., 7 days a week (closed Christmas)
Memorial Day to Labor Day: open Wednesday evenings until 8 p.m.
Morning walking hours, Wednesdays and Saturdays 7 - 9 a.m.
Free general admission: Wednesdays and Saturdays before noon for
residents of St. Louis City and County (with proof of residency).

Tower Grove House (closed January and February)   Free
Active-duty military receive two-for-one general Garden admission.

Show your valid Metro Fare (Ticket, Transfer, or Pass) at the ticket counter and save $1 on general Garden admission. (Not valid for special admission rate events, exhibits or attractions. Blackout dates: third weekend of May; Labor Day weekend; first weekend of Oct.; second weekend of Dec.)

Prices subject to change. Different rates apply for special events. Residents of St. Louis City and County must provide proof of residency. Thank you to the residents of St. Louis City and County, a portion of whose property taxes helps support the Missouri Botanical Garden.

Directions

Conveniently located off I-44, the Garden is easily accessible from the major highways in the area, even during the scheduled construction on I-64/40 in 2008-2009. Visit MoDot’s website : www.thenewi64.org for up-to-date construction details.

During the 2008 shutdown of I-64/40 from Ballas Road to I-270, the following directions are recommended:

  • From downtown, follow Memorial Drive south to I-44 west. Exit at Vandeventer and turn left. Then turn left on Shaw Boulevard. The Garden will be on your right. Map
  • From West County, take I-270 south to I-44 east. Exit at Vandeventer and turn right. Then turn left on Shaw Boulevard. The Garden will be on your right. Map
  • From near North County, take I-70 east into downtown St. Louis. Merge onto I-55 south to I-44 west. Exit at Vandeventer and turn left. Then turn left on Shaw Boulevard. The Garden will be on your right. Map
  • From far North County, take I-170 south to I-64/40 east. Exit at Kingshighway south. Turn left on Vandeventer/Southwest. Then turn right on Shaw Boulevard. The Garden will be on your right. Map
  • From Southwest County, take I-44 east. Exit at Vandeventer and turn right. Then turn left on Shaw Boulevard. The Garden will be on your right. Map
  • From South County, take I-55 north to I-44 west. Exit at Vandeventer and turn left. Then turn left on Shaw Boulevard. The Garden will be on your right. Map
  • From Illinois, take I-70 west across the Poplar Street Bridge. Merge onto I-55 south to I-44 west. Exit at Vandeventer and turn left. Then turn left on Shaw Boulevard. The Garden will be on your right. Map

Metro

The Garden is easily accessible via public transportation by taking the MetroLink to the Central West End station and picking up a Metro bus. More information.
