You fill a kitchen sink half full of water. You float a wooden bread board in the water. You put a ceramic plate on the breadboard. You mark the level of the water in the sink with a grease pencil. You push the plate off the breadboard so the plate sinks to the bottom.

Question: Does the level of the water rise, fall or stay the same?

ALSO You do the same thing again but instead of a plate, you put a big piece of ice on the breadboard and then mark the water level in the sink. Then you push off the ice. The ice floats in the water beside the bread board.

Question: Does the level of the water rise, fall or stay the same?

You have to get BOTH questions right AND explain why your answer is right in both cases.

Answer: click here but not before giving your self lots of time to think about it. Some people solve problems overnight while they are asleep. You might even try this as an experiment and click on the answer tomorrow.
