Beach, riverside, scarce, Impatiens capensis, Eckel, Oct. 1, 1997 (BUF).

 

Ontario: Low wet area E of the Niagara River Pkwy. Low mucky area being eroded by River, Alnus-Salix grove, with Pilea pumila, Impatiens biflora. Numerous individuals. P. M. Eckel with R. H. Zander Sept. 10, 1983 (BUF).

This species, together with Pilea pumila in the Urticaceae forms great drifts in moist depressions in late summer in shaded Silver Maple, Red Maple, Fraxinus pensylvanica woodlands at Buckhorn, Navy Island and in similar forested wetlands in the area.
