Edward Tuckerman (1849) reported a species of
Udora growing in water in the type locality of and mixed with Potamogeton
niagrensis "near the brink of the Hog-back" at Niagara Falls -
perhaps indicating Luna Island. Udora is an earlier name for Anacharis
and A. canadensis is the only species in the genus in our area.
