Ontario: Base of the Niagara River gorge, edge of the river, N of the Rainbow Bridge opposite the old Schoelkopf Plant. On cobble shore with various herbs (swimming eddy #1) only specimen. P. M. Eckel & R H. Zander 880135, Aug. 22, 1987 (BUF).          

Alisma plantago-aquatica L. WATER PLANTAIN. (As var. americana Gray.) "margin of Niagara River above the Falls," Day (1888). Ontario, Queen Victoria Park, Panton (1890). Ontario, Niagara Park System (as var. americana), Cameron (1895). "... abundant in several places, particularly at the quarry pond near the Gardener School," Hamilton (1943).
