Not listed for the Niagara Frontier Region by Zander and Pierce (1979). Mitchell (1986) does report it for New York State, as a rare introduction. Dore and McNeill (1980) report this "common species of northern Europe" as absent from the Ontario flora. Specimens identified before the 1930's as this species should be checked with A. trachycaulum. See Malte (1932).
