USA: Niagara. City of Niagara Falls. Whirlpool Wood. George W. Clinton "No. 1" May 20, 1860's (BUF). Common in the British Isles, it grows on wet rocks and soil by streams and rivers.

 

Conocephalum conicum (L.) Dumort.

 

USA:  Niagara Falls. A. Goat Island. Fem. B. Bergen Swamp. Masc. [label handwritten] ex coll. G. W. Clinton, Buffalo, N. Y. (BUF) [1860's].

 

USA: (As Fegetalla conica Corda.) Goat Is., Niagara Falls (Charles Peck in  Day 1883).
