GOALS OF THE CENTER FOR CONSERVATION AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
To analyze and interpret scientific data as a basis for conservation decision-making
To build the capacity for conservation in tropical countries by training local people in
conservation science
To develop community programs in tropical countries aimed at sound local management of natural
resources
To conserve rare and endangered plants and habitats in the Midwestern United States
To build partnerships with public and private sector organizations and agencies to foster
conservation
To participate in and promote the international conservation endeavor
