The collection was bequeathed by Trinius to the Botanical Museum after his death in 1841.

Notes:

This collection belongs to the Golden Fund of LE Herbarium. World-known agrostologist C.B.Trinius collected about 4000-5000 species from Poaceae family, large part of this collection is type materials. Originally plants were not mounted on sheets, they were stored in flimsies. All plants were mounted on sheets in the first half of XX century.

There are many notes and fine drawings of morphological features made by Trinius. Each sheet labeled as "Herbarium Trinii" with unique number.

Digital catalogue of the collection was created during joint project of Smitsonian Instritute (USA) and Komarov Botanical Institute "Graminaeae Types Project" in 1994. In 1995 Trinius' collection was published as IDC microfiches.
