A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
Vox, gen. sg. vocis (s.f.III), abl. sg. voce: a voice, sound, cry, call; a word, saying, speech, sentence; speech, language; see word;

- nomen a graeca voce drupto lacero et odon, ob dentes peristomii apice lacero-fissos, the name is from the greek word drupto lacero and odon, becuase the teeth of the peristome are lacerate-divided at the apex.

- CAMPYLOPHYTUM, a vocibus KampulotEs, obliquitas, flexus & phutov planta derivatur (Necker), Campylophytum, derived from the words KampyloEs, obliquity, a bending, and phyton, plant.

- Campylostelium: nomen e vocibus kampulos curvus et steleon securis manubrium q. e. pedunculis, ob pedunculum curvum Campylopodi affinem ductum (mosses; Mueller),the name derived from the words kampylos, curved and steleon, the haft of an axe, that is, to the peduncles, an affinityof Campylopodus due to the curved peduncle.

- (si haec vox in Historia Naturalis lingua admitti queat)(DeCandolle), if this word may be admitted in the language of Natural History.
