A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

Vepretum,-i (s.n.II), abl. sg. vepreto: a thorn-hedge, bramble-thicket; see brake, hedge, thicket [> L. vepres, gen.sg. vepris (s.m.III), q.v. + -etum,-i (s.n.II), q.v.]; see brake, hedge, thicket.

- [Cyathus striatus] in sylvis et vepretis non raro oritur (Mich.), it arises not rarely in forests and bramble-thickets.

- in vepretis maritimis agri Pifani, & Liburnenfis (Mich.), in the maritime (i.e. coastal) thorn-thickets of the region of Pisa and Liburnum.

- in vepretis, & ad sepes circa Florentiam, variis in locis cum sequenti (Mich.), in the bramble thicket associations and on the hedges around Florence, in various places with the following [sc. species].

- [Clathrus ruber] in arundinetis, & ad sepes, necnon in vepretis, non raro oritur (Mich.), it not uncommonly arises in reed beds, and shrub-hedges, and also in bramble-thickets.

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
