Iris are at peak bloom in the Goodman Iris Garden.
Azaleas are at peak bloom in the Lopata Azalea and Rhododendron, and still
showy in the English Woodland and Japanese Gardens.
Fringe trees (Chionanthus virginicus) are in full bloom in many locations
on the grounds.
Peonies are showy in the Japanese Garden and will be at peak bloom by week’s
end.
Kkousa dogwoods (Cornus kousa) are becoming showy throughout the grounds.
The Giant dogwood (Cornus controversa) remains showy by the tram path near
the east entrance to the Woodland Garden. The large double-flowered Horse chestnut
(Aesculus hippocastanum 'Baumannii') by the tram path in the Jenkins Daylily
Garden is in full bloom.
Old garden roses in the Lehmann Rose Garden and Climbers in the Gladney Rose Garden
are becoming showy.
