Stachys elliptica  Kunth;  Lamiaceae

Hierbas de hasta 8 cm de alto, se encuentran tendidas o erguidas, están cubiertas con pelos blancos. Las hojas son opuestas, ovadas, miden hasta 1 cm de largo; los bordes son crenados. Las inflorescencias se presentan en grupos de 6 flores en la punta de los tallos. Las flores miden hasta 1 cm de largo, son irregulares, tubulares y con dos labios, de color blanco con grandes manchas de color rosado-lila o rosado oscuro.

Distribución: Es endémica del Ecuador. En el PNC se encuentra cerca o dentro de los bosques de Polylepis.

Herbs up to 8 cm long, sprawling or erect covered with white hairs. The leaves are opposite, ovate, up to 1 cm long; the margins are crenate. The inflorescences are groups of up to 6 flowers at the tips of the stems. The flowers are up to 1 cm long, irregular, tubular and with two lips, white with large pinkish-lilac or dark pink spots.

Distribution: Endemic to Ecuador. In CNP it is found around or in the Polylepis forests.
