Potamogeton paramoanus  Haynes & Holm-Nielsen;  Potamogetonaceae

Hierbas acuáticas sumergidas y flotantes, crecen en grupos densos; los tallos son de longitud variable de acuerdo a la profundidad del agua. Las hojas son de dos tipos: las que están sumergidas, son alargadas, miden hasta 26 cm de largo, son de color verdoso algo translúcidas; las emergentes tienen forma de espátula, miden hasta 7 cm de largo, y presentan un color verde-amarillento. Las inflorescencias son poco llamativas y están sumergidas o emergentes, constituyen espigas de 1 cm de largo, de color verde claro. Las flores son diminutas de 1,5 mm de largo.

Distribución: Venezuela a Bolivia. En el PNC crece en las lagunas.

Aquatic herbs submerged and floating, forming dense groups; the stems are of variable length according to the depth of the water. The leaves are of two types: those submerged are elongate, up to 26 cm long, greenish and translucent; the emerging leaves are spathulate, up to 7 cm long, yellowish-green. The inflorescences are inconspicuous and are submerged or emerging; they are spikes up to 1 cm long, light green. The flowers are minute, 1.5 mm long.

Distribution: Venezuela to Bolivia. In CNP it grows in the lakes.
