Plantago australis  Lam.;  Plantaginaceae

Hierbas que miden hasta 40 cm de alto. Las hojas están dispuestas en una roseta en la base, miden hasta 40 cm de largo, son lanceoladas, de color verde con tintes morados, ambas superficies con pelos cortos. La inflorescencia es alta, mide hasta 40 cm, tiene numerosas flores. Las flores son poco vistosas, se disponen a lo largo del eje elevado, miden 5 mm de largo y son verdosas.

Distribución: Venezuela a Perú. En el PNC crece en el páramo de pajonal y en áreas abiertas húmedas.

Herbs up to 40 cm tall. The leaves, arranged in a basal rosette, are up to 40 cm long, lanceolate, green tinged with purple, both surfaces with short hairs. The inflorescence is up to 40 cm long, with numerous flowers. The flowers are inconspicuous and arranged on the elevated axis, up to 5 mm long and greenish.

Distribution: Venezuela to Peru. In CNP it grows in the grass páramo and in open humid areas.
