Galium hypocarpium  (L.) Endl. ex Griseb.;  Rubiaceae

Hierbas rastreras, cubiertas con pelos blancos. Las hojas son opuestas, miden hasta 1 cm, son elípticas, junto con 2 estípulas muy parecidas se disponen en grupos de 4 en cada nudo. La inflorescencia con 2 flores. Las flores son poco llamativas, de hasta 4 mm de diámetro, con 4 pétalos de color verdoso. Los frutos son en forma de globos, miden hasta 7 mm de diámetro, son carnosos, de color anaranjado brillante.

Distribución: México hasta Paraguay. En el PNC se encuentra dentro de los bosques de Polylepis.

Trailing herbs, covered with white hairs. The leaves are opposite, up to 1 cm long, elliptic; together with 2 similar stipules they are in groups of 4 at each node. The inflorescence has 2 flowers. The flowers are inconspicuous, up to 4 mm in diameter, with 4 greenish petals. The fruits are globose, up to 7 mm in diameter, fleshy, bright orange.

Distribution: Mexico to Paraguay. In CNP it is found in the Polylepis forests.
