Subarborescent ferns, the trunks stout,
to ca. 35 cm tall; locally common in
secondary cloud forest. Fronds to ca. 3
m long (including petiole), subscandent
in thickets. Pinnae 9-10 up to included
apex. Petiole deep blackish-mahogany at
base, the scales the same color.
