Chemical Action and Usages: An adjuvant (a.k.a. spreader-stickers) is a chemical that modifies a pesticide’s physical properties and/or enhances its performance. Most adjuvants are non-ionic, water soluble spray additives that increase the absorption, translocation and sticking of pesticides to the leaf surface. They increase the time the chemical remains on the leaf by resisting wash off due to rain or heavy dew. Many post-emergence herbicides recommend the addition of an adjuvant to the spray mix. In addition to herbicides, adjuvants are labeled for use with insecticides, miticides and fungicides. There are no set standards for adjuvant composition, so ingredients and quality may vary. The above listed product includes isopropanol and ethylene oxide.
Cautions/Instructions: Read the label carefully and apply the product according to the directions on the label
Toxicity: May cause skin and eye irritation in humans. Prolonged inhalation may cause nasal/respiratory irritation. Additional toxicity will be determined by the pesticide the adjuvant is added to.
