Chemical Action and Usages: Insecticide and molluscicide in a granular or pellet form for ground treatment in strawberry patches, vegetable gardens, annual flower and perennial beds, around shrubs and in lawns to control slugs, snails and sowbugs. This product is also registered to control ants, armyworms, chinch bugs, cutworms, grasshoppers, millipedes and mole crickets. The active ingredients are carbaryl (broad spectrum insecticide) and metaldehyde (molluscicide). Acts both as a contact and stomach poison. This product can be ineffective in hot, dry weather when snails/slugs are less active. Irrigate the soil before application to promote snail/slug activity.
Cautions/Instructions: Read the label carefully of the brand and formulation you have selected. Apply the product according to the directions on the label. Do not use this product if children or pets have access to the treated area. (Consult the information on the Iron Phosphate formulation for a safer approach around children and pets.) These products often have the appearance of animal feeds and may be attractive to pets, especially dogs, yet are potentially fatal if consumed by them. Do not apply near water or where rain or irrigation may wash product into unwanted areas. Consult the label for the appropriate harvest waiting period when using around vegetables.
Toxicity: Toxic to humans, pets and birds, especially from ingestion. Moderately toxic to fish. Highly toxic to aquatic invertebrates. Highly toxic to bees if exposed to residues or direct treatment.
