General Culture:
Best grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soil in full sun. Tolerates light shade. Water deeply and regularly. Summer mulch helps retain moisture and keeps roots cool. Crowns need protection in cold winter areas. Prune in early spring.
Noteworthy Characteristics:
This everblooming shrub rose typically grows 3-5' tall and features profuse blooms of fragrant, shell-pink flowers, both singly and in clusters, throughout the summer. Foliage is dark green. A descendant of 'Queen Elizabeth,' a popular floribunda.
Problems:
Roses are susceptible to a large number of disease problems, the most common of which are black spot, powdery mildew, rust and rose rosette. If good cultural practices do not control disease, then fungicides may become necessary. Insect problems include aphids, beetles, borers, scale, thrips, leafhoppers and mites. If natural predators fail to control insect populations adequately, then insecticides may become necessary.
Uses:
Mass or group in a shrub or mixed border or rose garden. Excellent specimen. Also effective as a hedge.
