General Culture:
Grow in average, medium to wet, well-drained soil in partial shade. Can be grown in full sun if soils are kept uniformly moist. Needs consistent cool summer night temperatures below 70 F to grow well. Spreads by runners to form large clumps in optimum growing conditions.
Noteworthy Characteristics:
A clump-forming plant. Flower is an umbel (to 1.5" across) of reddish florets growing from a star-like ruff of petal-like greenish or pinkish-tinged bracts. Medium green lower leaves are palmately cut into 3-5 (usually 5) toothed lobes. Long late spring to early summer bloom period. Long lasting fresh cut flower.

No serious insect or disease problems.
Uses:
An excellent flower for massing in the perennial border, cottage garden, or woodland garden or for naturalizing as an understory planting beneath light, open trees.
