General Culture:
Grow in average, medium moisture, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. This hyssop cultivar is only winter hardy to Zone 6, and may not survive some St. Louis winters. Plant in a well-protected, southern or southeastern exposure and provide a good winter mulch. Otherwise, grow as an annual.
Noteworthy Characteristics:
A woody-stemmed perennial in the mint family which grows to 2.5' tall. Agastache produces whorls of tiny, tube-shaped, raspberry flowers closely packed into 6-10" terminal spikes on stiff, purple stems. Leaves are serrated, ovate-lanceolate, and pleasantly aromatic (lemon-scented). Tolerates summer heat and humidity. Long, late summer bloom, sometimes extending to first frost.
