General Culture:
Easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Prefers rich, moist soils. Variegated needles may suffer some scorch in early years until established.
Noteworthy Characteristics:
This Colorado spruce cultivar is noted for its compact, upright, broadly pyramidal habit and powder blue needles with golden yellow variegation. Grows slowly (12"+ per year) typically to a height of 5-6' by 3' wide, but may grow taller.
Problems:
No serious insect or disease problems. Susceptible to aphids (particularly spruce gall aphid), budworms and spider mites.
Uses:
Excellent specimen. Also effective in groups. Foundation plantings. Borders. Rock gardens.
