General Culture:

Easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Prefers moist, fertile soils in full sun. Avoid wet soils, however. Shelter from wind.

Noteworthy Characteristics:

This evergreen Sawara cypress cultivar is a dwarf, conical shrub that features awl-shaped foliage on feathery twigs which are splashed with white at the twig tips. Slow growing plants which typically reach 4' tall by 4' wide after 10 years. May eventually grow to 8-9' tall over time or can be kept shorter through minimal pruning. Produces few if any cones.

No serious insect or disease problems. Some susceptibility to juniper blight, root rot and certain insect pests such as bagworms.

Uses:

Foundation plant, rock gardens, borders, specimens or accents. White tipped, evergreen foliage provides year-round interest.
