General Culture:
Easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Best in part shade. Prefers moist, fertile soils. Avoid wet, poorly-drained soils, however. Shelter from wind.
Noteworthy Characteristics:
This false cypress cultivar is a dense pyramidal semi-dwarf evergreen shrub that features soft, silvery blue-gray foliage. It is slow growing, typically reaching 5-6’ tall in 10 years. May eventually reach a mature size of 12-15’ tall, but can easily be kept smaller with minimal pruning. Discovered as a sport of Chamaecyparis pisifera ‘Squarrosa’.

No serious insect or disease problems. Some susceptibility to juniper blight, root rot and certain insect pests such as bagworms.
Uses:
Rock gardens, foundation plantings. Excellent specimen.
