Exploring Trees Inside and Out

The Dancing With Trees activity encourages children and adults to don costumes and see themselves in a forest scene as they soar over the forest like a bird, or sway gently like a tree in the breeze.

Exploring Trees Inside and Out Video

Parents, educators, children and the young at heart are invited to visit Exploring Trees Inside and Out during their stay at the Garden.

Exploring Trees Inside and Out is an interactive experience designed to help children, educators, and families discover nature through multiple perspectives. Fun and learning are combined to educate how trees and the natural environment connect.

The program incorporates activities specially designed for children ages 2–8 and encourages them to get outdoors and develop personal connections with the natural world. Children can climb inside a large burr oak, explore the inside of an oversized leaf, and crawl through the hollow of a giant log.

Exploring Trees Inside and Out is a collaborative project of the Arbor Day Foundation and Dimensions Educational Research Foundation.

The exhibit is touring nationally through 2010 thanks to the generous support of Doubletree Hotels.
