Apr. 1 through Dec. 31
Tower Grove House, the Victorian country home of Missouri Botanical Garden founder Henry Shaw, reopens for the season. Open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m. Closed Mondays. Included with Garden admission.

Apr. 1 through 4
The Doris I. Schnuck Children’s Garden: A Missouri Adventure reopens for the season. Help wake the Children’s Garden for spring with activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Children’s Garden is open Apr. 1 through Oct. 31 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Apr. 2
Arbor Day tree giveaway. The Kemper Center for Home Gardening will give away 400 tree saplings on a first-come, first served basis, one per visitor. Master gardeners will answer questions and give advice on planting trees in the spring. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or while supplies last. Kemper Center, upper level.

Great Green Adventures: Celebrate Sakura. Did you know that some trees also have flowers? Join us on a walk to find these spring-flowering trees and learn why they have flowers. Ages six to 12 with an adult. Great Green Adventures are held the third Saturday of every month at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Meet outside the Children’s Garden entrance. $3 per child.

Herb Days, presented by the Garden Gate Shop and the St. Louis Herb Society. Choose from a wide selection of potted fresh herbs, including new and hard-to-find varieties. The society’s popular cookbook, periodicals and curry powder will also be available. Herb Society members will give demonstrations and guidance on selecting, planting, growing and using herbs. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Included with Garden admission or membership. www.stlouisherbsociety.com
