Taking a cue from the “orchidelirium” of 19th century Britain, the 2007 orchid show presents The Art of Orchids, a gorgeous showcase of the natural beauty and variety of form and scent of these living jewels of the floral kingdom. This rotating exhibit of orchids will be presented in decorative urns, under
glass, even framed on the wall, and surrounded by bromeliads, palms, ferns, and a variety of tropical plants. The horticulture division's staff and volunteers plan and prepare for the show months in advance.
