The scale of a playhouse, Niki originally conceived the idea in the early 1970s as a response to religious intolerance she observed while working in Jerusalem. She proposed a chapel where all religions could come together in peace. This sculpture was actually a study for a building that Niki wanted to create for the new millennium.
