Dashi
Moving Stage Pulled by Children

dashi

The dashi is an ornately decorated stage built upon a cart, which is traditionally pulled around town during festivals to show off its “wonderfulness” to all the townspeople.

Japanese school children will invite other children to help pull the dashi, while others ride the cart and beat the taiko drum.
