Education
SAGE (Students As Garden Educators) Service Program
What will you accomplish next summer?
As a SAGE Service Program Volunteer at the Missouri Botanical Garden, you have the opportunity to:
- Plant seeds of knowledge
- Inspire appreciation for nature
- Encourage conservation
The SAGE Service Program offers students an opportunity to interpret plants, nature, and the Missouri Botanical Garden for our youngest visitors. While offering fun educational activities in the Children’s Garden, students will improve their public speaking and teaching skills, meet students from other schools, enhance future college and job applications, and earn 50 hours of community service.
Who can participate?
St. Louis area students, ages 14–18, can participate. Volunteers should be out-going, willing to work outside during summer months, eager to learn new material and share their knowledge with others.
When?
Program participants will volunteer from April through October 2009. Scheduling is somewhat flexible and the MBG staff will work with you to accommodate jobs, summer school, vacation plans, and other commitments.
